Not sure what your level is? Each level has lessons to try for free so you know where you are!
New to Japanese? Start here! This section is designed for learners with little or no prior experience. You'll build a strong foundation by learning hiragana, katakana, essential vocabulary, basic grammar, pronunciation, and everyday expressions. By the end, you'll be able to read Hiragana, introduce yourself, and form simple sentences.
Ready to build on the basics? This section expands your grammar, vocabulary, reading, and listening skills while helping you become more comfortable using real-life Japanese. You'll learn how to talk about daily routines, make requests, describe people & places, and understand longer conversations. These lessons align closely with the skills needed for the JLPT N5 and begin introducing N4 concepts.
Take your Japanese beyond textbook conversations. In this section, you'll tackle more advanced grammar, strengthen your reading comprehension, expand your vocabulary, and develop greater fluency in speaking and writing. You'll gain the confidence to discuss a wider range of topics and prepare for the transition from N4 to upper-intermediate Japanese N3 level.
